I am no longer listing the individual stores in these chains because
there are just too many, and because the persons who might book performers
change so often. If an individual store or performer does have a booking,
I’ll be happy to list it in the SCMA Calendar.
Barnes & Noble
I’ve been told that Barnes & Noble has stopped booking musicians
as a corporate policy. This apparently has something to do with potential
violations of ASCAP & BMI agreements. If you would like to contact
individual stores to see if they are operating independently, please do
so.

Borders Books, Music &
Café
Borders has stores in almost every state. Most of their stores have
a Café where they sometimes book musicians to promote their albums.
Usually, Borders will pay in the form of a gift certificate for most regional
performers and an opportunity to sell your product.
Their main website is listed here for your convenience. If you are
interested in performing at a Borders store, please check their website
for information & then contact their local Community Relations Coordinator.
